Action-packed Month

I can hardly believe it is already May!  This will be an action-packed month.  Some things you should know…

On Friday, children will be bringing home their Mother's Day card - if your child will be absent, please let me know so that we can send it home earlier.

Fun Day is next Wednesday.  I have NO information about this yet (yes, this is late) but will let you know when I do.  In the meantime, there is going to be a need for parent volunteers.  Please mark your calendar if you can spend some time at the school that day (tentative timing would be 10:30ish to 2:30).  More information to come...

The Primary Days of Music Festival is also next week - this is a fun festival where children from all over the district get together to perform for each other.  It is a great opportunity for the children to put themselves out there and just have a GREAT time.

Kindergarten orientation day is May 20th.  With the incoming K's visiting K classrooms, this year's K's get to visit a Gr. 1 classroom.  It has not been done before, but I am going to see if I can get our Gr. 1s into a Gr. 2 classroom for some time that day!  PLEASE NOTE: there have been absolutely NO classroom placement conversations yet.  The classroom your child visits is not necessarily the classroom they will be in next year.  This arrangement is made between classroom teachers and the entire class visits the same room.  Often children go home this day and tell Mom and Dad that they met their new teacher and then the questions start pouring in.  So, there!
