Just a head's up that we are working through the sexual health part of our curriculum. We have been talking about good (hugs, etc.) vs bad (hitting, etc.) touches and today went over terminology for private parts. Lots of "baby" language came to light as I am sure you can imagine and we talked about the difference between these words and "scientific" words which are very important to know. Personal hygiene is still to come and what to do when someone touches you in a way you don't like. We follow programs for this part of the curriculum so that all classes receive the same information, and I am combining the K and Grade 1 programs to meet the needs of both.
There are often some interesting conversations around the dinner table at this time of year!
