Sky Art with Family of Schools

On Monday, Brooksbank students will be involved in something pretty special called, Sky Art.

In conjunction with our Family of Schools (~2300 students) we will become part of the Sutherland Sabre logo as depicted from above.  Students will be PROVIDED with a t-shirt of a particular color and organized onto the grass field to recreate the logo.  My understanding is that they will lean over for the picture so that only the color of the shirt will be photographed (not their faces).

This is going to be an organizational nightmare and a HUGE production with many members of the community (mayor, fire dept., district personnel, etc.) in attendance.  Note that on Monday, traffic may be an issue even though the planned start time is a bit later in the morning.

To prepare for this day, we are attending an assembly at Sutherland tomorrow (Friday) to hear a presentation from the artist.  This is a walking field trip and does not require a consent form.  There will be another assembly at Sutherland on Tuesday, June 16th where we will be able to see the finished product.  We are leaving for both assemblies in the morning but immediately on the Tuesday so please ensure that your children are on time both days.  If you arrive late, you can bring them to Sutherland to join their class and/or find us on route.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  Also, please bring me Advil and wine of Monday :-)
